This venue has provided darts which can only be described as the building itself..... - a work of art !!

Larry Butler won the first final of this event in 1994 winning 16 legs to 12 defeating Dennis 'The Menace' Priestley. There has only been 7 different winners of this tournament including the latest and best young stars including James 'The Machine' Wade.

Since the beginning from 1994 till 2011 the stage has been a home to the greatest dart player of all time winning the final of the World MatchPlay in Blackpool no fewer than 12 times !!
Averaging 100+ in most of his finals and a heart stopping 9 darter against Chris Mason in 2002 Phil 'the power' Taylor has been the greatest darts player the Blackpool's 2,500 crowd have ever seen on the seaside stage.
